Leon Lyle Owens, 80, Kansas City, Kansas passed away January 20, 2019. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM, with a funeral service at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas 66112. A private graveside service will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Calvary Chapel, 2614 S. 18th St., Kansas City, Kansas 66106.
Leon retired from Plumbers Local 8 after 60 years in 2001.
Leon is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol; three children, Shawn Owens, Eric Owens and Julie (Chris) Berry; 3 grandsons; and sister, Juanita (Eddie) Shimschock.
