Kimberly Ann Wendt, 51, of Basehor, KS, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 20, 2011. She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and sister. Kim was born on July 19, 1959 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada to Ross Ernest Dean and Barbara Maureen (Allely) McKay. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, planting flowers and watching the Chiefs. She graduated in 1977 from Rio Mesa High School in Camarillo, CA. She worked for the Unified School District #204 for 18 years. Kim is preceded in death by: her mother and father. Survivors include her husband of 32 years Michael R. Wendt of the home, son: James (Jimmy) Wendt and his wife Lynn of Basehor, KS, and one sister: Lynn Ingersoll of Indian River Ontario, Canada. Left behind to cherish her memory are her four grandsons: Caden, Bryce, Boston and Carter. She will be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews and the many friends she encountered throughout her life that loved and adored her. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. A private family Inurnment will take place at a later date. Friends may visit from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service.
