Kimball, 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior March 6, 2016. He was born May 1, 1940 to Kimball L., Sr. & Betty (Armentrout) Backus. Kimball lived on the family farm in Kansas City, Kansas and raised Black Angus cattle. He married Dolores Adams-Westaby and one year later, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and stationed in Miesau, Germany. After completing his tour, he returned to work as a truck driver and was employed for 30 years by Brady Motorfreight, Smith Transfer & American Freight.
Kimball is survived by his wife, Dolores; daughter, Deborah Fryatt and husband Tim; son, Kimball L. Backus, III and Katie; grandson, Kimball L. Backus IV; granddaughter, Justine Fryatt and best friend, Victor Whitney.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 11th from 6:00-8:00PM at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Graveside service will be Saturday, March 12th at 10:00AM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association, 1500 Meadow Lake Parkway, Kansas City, Missouri 64114 or Good Shepherd Hospice, 11253 Strang Line Road, Lenexa, Kansas 66215.
