Kay Deloney Brown, 64, Kansas City, Kansas passed away June 28, 2022. A funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Roswell Church of Christ, 2900 Roswell, Kansas City, Kansas. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, also at the church. A graveside service will be immediately following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas.
Kay was born on June 1, 1958 in Kansas City, Kansas to Margie Jean (Gipson) and Willie Gene Floyd Deloney. She received all of her education through the Wyandotte Public School system and received her practical diploma through an area technical vocational school. She went on to Kansas City Kansas Community College where she received her associate’s degree in nursing.
Kay accepted Christ under the leadership at Roswell Church of Christ. Kay was married to Rickey Brown on November 14, 1977. She continued to work through Christ in her career as a nurse for KU Medical Center for twenty four years.
Kay was preceded in passing by her parents; daughter, Mary Kay Brown; son, Rickey Brown; and sister, Julia Ann Miller.
Left to always carry on her memory is her beloved husband, Rickey; siblings, Carmen Smittie of San Francisco, CA, Angela Smittie of Long Beach, CA, Maurice Doloney of Kansas City, KS, Wayne Miller of Kansas City, KS, and Paralee (Norman) Parris of Lee’s Summit, MO; daughter-in-law, Lisa Brown; other family members include, Cedric Massengale of Birmingham, AL, Slyvester (Kassanda) Brown of Kansas City, KS, Leonard Brown of Birmingham, AL, Christopher Brown of Birmingham, AL; John Bruce, Jr of North Carolina, JoJo Montoyo of New York, NY, Auntie Neicy of Birmingham, AL, and Jean Brown, Birmingham, AL, sisters-in-law, Darlene (John) Renfro of Baltimore, Maryland, Sabrina (Julian) Rivera of Baltimore, MD and Wendy Pace of Birmingham, AL.
