Joan D. Derry

Joan Darlene Derry, 81, passed away July 5th, 2016. She was born in Woodburn, Oregon to Frank G. and Edna M. (Cattnach) Paetznick. Throughout her life, Joan lived in Yakima, Washington, Nashville, Tennessee, Los Frenos, Texas and the KC area. She worked as an LPN and enjoyed watching baseball in her free time. Joan will be remembered for her easy going personality.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Richard Derry; her parents, Frank and Edna; daughter, Marcia Greene and son, Steve Goodwin.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Linda (Bill) Reel; son-in-law, Michael Greene; sister, Kaye Rau; grandchildren, Christy (Jim) McNeill, Aaron (Tara) Greene, Shelby (Jim) Russell, Chad Reel, Zach (Aspen) Greene, Stacey (Karl) Hurla, Elijah (Becky) Greene, Arielle Greene and Blaine (Nicole) Greene; great-grandchildren, Braylen, Jessica, Sabrina, Dalton, Lucas, Zachary, Mya, Holly, Dylan, Lily, Ben, Madison, Mason, Miles, Emma, Charlie, Aryssa, Sadie, Jamison, Emmett, Lincoln, Charlotte and Harrison.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, July 9th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64145, as a thank you for the wonderful care and compassion the staff has shown to Joan and her family.
