Jim Sprague

Jim Sprague, 78, of KCK, passed away on March 26, 2016. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, April 3rd at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.

Jim was born July 19, 1937 in Elk Falls, KS to James and Esther Sprague. He grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1955. Jim worked for over thirty years as a forklift operator for Roadway Trucking; he retired in 1998. He was also a loyal member of the Teamster’s Local 41 and the Eagles Lodge #87. Jim married Marge Ballagh in 1991. He loved bowling, fishing, watching football, playing shuffleboard and all sorts of card games, especially Texas Hold ‘Em. Jim’s greatest attribute was that he was a loving and giving family man.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Esther Sprague; and his son, Ron Edwards.

Jim is survived by his wife, Marge Sprague; his children, James Edwards (Cindy), John Sprague, Dennis Sprague, David Sprague (Madeline Ballinger), Larry Reynolds (Cathy Reynolds), Lonnie Reynolds (Robin), and Dawn Renea Wood (John); his grandchildren, Myles McHenry, Zachary McHenry, Samantha Sprague, Katie Sprague, Amanda McAdams, Missy Edwards, Jessie Moore, Nicole Sohn, Kari Wilson, Tyler Asher, Josh McReynolds, Mistie McReynolds, and Matthew McReynolds; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and several great great-grandchildren.
