Ivan is survived by his children, Vicky L Cobb, of Edwardsville, Ks., Karen L Hardison, of Independence, Mo., Jeanne L Wiehe, of Lansing, Ks., Susan L Eickhoff, of Kansas City, Ks. Ivan has many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In the early years Ivan was in the United States Navy stationed in Jacksonville, Florida. When his family came back to Kansas City he worked for the railroad for a while until being hired on at Colgate Palmolive. He entered the apprenticeship program for a pipe/fitter welder. Ivan stayed with Colgate Palmolive until his retirement in 1992.
In his retirement years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also like working with wood.
He was a member of London Heights Baptist Church. Where he loved to participate in holiday activities for the kids. He especially enjoyed the pot luck dinners and the deserts that came with it.
He loved watching or listing to Royals Baseball. He loved watching old western movies, especially John Wayne.
Ivan also enjoyed listening and singing to country and bluegrass music.
Ivan was a caring and compassionate son to his father and mother, devoted husband to his wife, and loving father and grandfather. He was a hard worker, and would help anyone in need.
Ivan led a full and enriched life while waiting to be with Lois. They are once again together forever. He is at peace in her loving arms.
Visitation for Ivan will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11 a.m., both services will be held at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, at 701 N. 94th St. KCK. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Ivan to Crossroads Hospice Care 2900 N.E. 60th St. Suite 150, Gladstone, Mo. 64119, or American Cancer Society at 1118 N 7th St Trfy, Kansas City, Ks.
