Fred Anson Goss, 92, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away peacefully on January 12th at KC Hospice House. Memorial services will be Saturday, January 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Private inurnment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64145.
Fred was born August 14, 1920 in Odessa, Washington to Theron William and Lillian (Bobier) Goss. The family soon moved to a homestead north of Sturgis, South Dakota near Bear Butte. Fred graduated from Sturgis High School in 1938 and proudly served from 1942-46 in the Army during WWII. Fred worked as a carpenter superintendent with various companies and retired from William G. Young Construction Co. Family and friends were very important to Fred. He kept in touch with many friends and family with phone calls, personal visits and always remembered to send Christmas cards. He loved attending all the school activities and sporting events of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Fred is survived by a daughter Carolyn (Lloyd) Whisner of Kansas City, KS; a son Gary (Wilma) Goss of Grain Valley, MO; grandchildren, Denise (Chris) Kieffaber, Brian Whisner, Debbie (Jim) Willis, and Cheri (Roy) Worley; great-grandchildren, Josh Hudson, Amy Veenendaal-Green, Bradley Veenendaal, Quenten Kieffaber, Brooke Whisner, Paige Whisner, Maxwell Whisner, Stanley Worley and Ross Marie Worley; four great-great grandchildren as well as cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy Goss, daughter Patricia Ann Goss, brother Herbert Goss, sisters Ilith Lickingteller and Clara Clark.
