Frank D. Blevins, 84, of North Kansas City, passed away suddenly on January 29, 2016. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm, Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Funeral services will be 11:00am, Friday, February 5, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Frank was born January 1, 1932 in Seymour, Missouri to Russell Amos and Bessie Irene (Denney) Blevins. He grew up in Seymour, Missouri, moved to Springfield, and then relocated to Kansas City in 1962. Frank worked for Certain-Teed and later worked as an inspector for Hobart Refrigeration for over 33 years. He was a member of the BIEW Union while at Hobart. Frank bowled for many years and was often on the television show, Bowling for Dollars. He also enjoyed playing pool, collecting baseball cards and loved to buy, sell, and trade at the Swap and Shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Bessie; his siblings Virgil Blevins, Herman Blevins, Lorraine Blevins, Della Moore, Raymond Blevins, Barbara Armstrong, Harold Blevins, Geneva Blevins; and one great-grandson, Elijah Blevins.
Frank is survived by his daughters, Gina Estrada (Francisco Ramirez), and Janice Blevins; his grandchildren, Chris Blevins (Iren Sultana), Michael Blevins-Ramirez ( Hannah Meers), Samantha Blevins-Ramirez, Selena Blevins-Ramirez, and Kayla Blevins; his three great-grandchildren, Izaiah Johnson, Dayana Harding, and Isabella Finley; and his brother Larry Blevins (Sharon).
