Edna Ruth Golden (Snapp), 87, of Gladstone, Missouri passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 26, 1936 in Nodaway, MO to Clarence and Marie Snapp.
Edna married Roy Golden in 1960 and moved to Dodge City, KS where she lived for 36 years raising three wonderful children. Edna enjoyed spending time with friends, cooking, and of course bowling. She bowled in multiple weekly leagues, and loved traveling with her teammates to state and national tournaments across the country. Her passion for bowling led her to become a youth bowling instructor at Plaza Lanes which helped her introduce the sport of bowling to hundreds of kids. Edna had a love of cooking and was always trying out new recipes and canning homegrown foods that she would share with family and friends.
After retirement, Edna moved to Osage Beach, MO and then in 2015 moved to Gladstone, MO to be closer to her family, and the airport so she could fly to visit her grandchildren in CT both of which she adored. Edna loved being around family and planned many of the Snapp family reunions where she would guarantee good food, plenty of conversations, and many laughs.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her husband, Roy Golden, her children Rhonda (Libby) of Roeland Park, KS, Randy (Ian) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Heather (Lisa) of Simsbury, CT; her two grandchildren, Piper and Parker Golden-Jarrell; her brother Joseph (Norma) Snapp of Savannah, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.
