Just talking about Doris the other day…she was such a blessing to our family, the Barfoot family!  Miss her.

I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful mother.  We are out of town or I would love to speak to each of you “boys” again.  You wouldn’t remember me but I remember you quite well.  Donna was my best friend for many years and I was often at your house.  Doris fed me many delicious meals and gave me the recipes.  I was cooking for my family by age 10 and my sisters and I made those meals many times and still do.  I loved your mother.

Such a wonderful, loving Mom.  I always felt completely welcome - even loved.  She instinctively knew I was hungry for that.  She taught me how to make two recipes that I have continued to make.  My boys loved them growing up.  As I have said, I could have dropped by to see her more if I had been able to process Donna's death better - my regret.   Treasure the bond I had for a short time with them.  May God comfort your family.

So sorry for your loss .  Doris was a long time friend of our family.  My sister, Cheryl and Donna went to school together . 
 
At one time Doris provided care for our Father.  He was at a stage in his life when he needed constant care.  Doris would come over during the day and keep him company, make sure that he took his medication and ate on schedule.  She was a true God send.  They got along so well 
and it was so good to know that he was well cared for .  We were forever grateful.

Doris had a wonderful sense of humor...we always loved being around her.  She kept us in stitches. 

May God bring you all comfort as you look back on all of your happy memories.  You will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm truly sad to hear of Doris's passing.  I always enjoyed seeing her during the holidays and would love our little chit chats.  She always had a smile on her face.  Doris will always hold a special place in my heart.  My heart goes out to the Fields family. 

Doris was a loving Grandma to me and a great grandma to my three kids. Things you can remember about her are her famous Fried Chicken and her brownie cake. But most of all she brought a smile and I laugh on your face every time you came to see her or heard her story she like to tell.  You could never tell her anything because she insisted on doing things for other people or doing everything for herself.  But the most things I would miss about her is her Sunday dinners with her family and her holidays we spent together every year.  Plus when she instead on making you meal knowing that you eat before you came over to visit with her.  Rest in peace to my grandmother and to my kids great grandmother you will always be loved , missed  and in are hearts. 

Doris was probably the sweetest lady I knew. She was always so happy when we came to visit. I always looked forward to hearing her stories. She always insisted that she cook for us every time we came to visit, even if we had just eaten. 😄 All of my grandmothers passed before I was born, so Doris was like the grandma I never had.  She was my husband's grandmother, but she welcomed me with open arms and treated me like her own and I loved her for that. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace, Grandma. We love you!!
