Dennis E. Harman, 59, of Gulf Breeze, FL passed away June 2, 2017 at his home. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, June 12th at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 13th at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Dennis was born August 27, 1957 in Kansas City, Kansas to Frank and Joanne Harman. He graduated from Bonner Springs High School, received his Bachelor’s Degree from Baker University and his Master’s Degree from the University of Kansas. Dennis joined Kappa Sigma Fraternity while in school. He worked for the FDIC for 31 years as a bank examiner, of that 20 years were spent in Connecticut, where he met and married Rita Ann Massaro in 1998. They moved to Gulf Breeze, Florida to finish out his career and retire. They were members of St. Sylvester’s in Gulf Breeze, Florida. He enjoyed fishing and golfing and was an avid animal lover. Dennis loved KU basketball and enjoyed exercising and ran in many long distance races. He was a good family man and enjoyed taking them on trips.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joanne Lee (Odrowski) Harman, and his brother, William S. Harman.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Rita (Massaro) Harman; his children, William Thomas Harman, and Kathryn Rose Harman; his father, Frank L. Harman; his brothers, Frank Harman, III (Lisa), Ricky T. Harman (Nancy), Joe Harman, and John T. Harman (Debbie); as well as his nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
