A Celebration of her life will take place Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 1-4 PM. For more information about the celebration of life, please contact Eric Pritchett. The family requests that any contributions be made in her honor to The Echo Foundation. Born on May 19, 1937 to Frank E. and Mary (MacArthur) Acton, she was raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Capitol Hill High School before she attended Oklahoma State University. Deanna then moved to Columbia, Missouri for a short time, before moving to the Kanas City Area around 1970. Except for the 2 years she lived in Nairobi, Kenya in the mid 1970’s, she remained a resident of the Kansas City Area until she retired to Beaver Lake, Arkansas in 2006.
She will be remembered for her perpetually upbeat nature and her willingness to do anything for her friends and family. She attended a countless number of her sons’ sporting events where she often was also the scorekeeper. She loved staying active, enjoying decorating her home for the season, sewing, dancing, listening to music, hosting Halloween Parties, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. After moving to the lake, she could often be found boating, swimming or water skiing.
Many will remember Deanna professionally, as a successful Realtor. In Nairobi she was an administrative assistant at the Nairobi International School. She was a member of Beta-Sigma-Phi sorority, both in Kansas City and in Arkansas. She loved working with the sorority on the Christmas Parade in Eureka Springs.
Along with her parents, Deanna was preceded in death by both of her brothers, Ted Acton and Hershel Acton.
Left to mourn her passing includes her husband of 62 years, Jim Pritchett; 4 sons, Curtiss Pritchett, Bryan Pritchett, Eric Pritchett and his wife, Linda, and Darin Pritchett and his wife, Michelle; 7 grandchildren, Max Pritchett, Cameron Pritchett, Morgan Pritchett, Peyton Pritchett, Sara Pritchett, Ian Pritchett and Cheyanne Pritchett, 1 great grandson, Daxton Pritchett; and a host of Acton nieces and nephews.
