David Andrew Young

A visitation for David will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. A funeral service will be immediately following at 11:00 AM, also at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. David will be laid to rest in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Meditation Bench Estates; Section: C, Lot: 470, Grave: 3.

David was in the Army National Guard. He was married to the love of his life, Sheila for 55 years. He worked at Display Studios for 31 years. He started as a window washer and ended his career as a display painter. After retirement he pursued many hobbies which included being a volunteer Master Gardener at the Turner Community Garden. He also became a professional clown named "Davy”, being a part of the Clown Alley #92. He loved to make people laugh and hand out red noses.

David was devoted to God and loved doing anything at the church. He helped out with the kids and built the pinewood derby track. He would take the track all over the district for the kids to race their cars. In 2017, David and Glenn Taylor built 2 new tracks for the pinewood derby at the Nazarene General Assembly in Indianapolis, Minnesota. The kids had a great time. David also loved playing dominoes with the Turner Seniors Group.

David is survived by his wife, Sheila Young; daughter, Sarah (Rick) Link; son, Dan (Kim) Young; brother, Roger (Cheryl) Young; sister, Michelle (Jeff) Grace; grandchildren, Camden Link, Keegan, Morgan, Kerrigan and Lillie Young; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a devoted husband, father and friend to many. He touched several people in his lifetime. He will be forever missed and loved. David will be carried in our hearts for eternity. Until we meet again.

Serving as pallbearers are Dan Young, Rick Link, Keegan Young, Camden Link, Glenn Taylor and Morgan Young.
