David Louis Foley entered the Kingdom of God as a firm believer on May 5, 2023. He lived just one month shy of his 94th birthday after living a remarkable life that started on June 15, 1929. He passed in his home under many years of care from his son Allen Foley and with Allen by his side.
David was born in Missouri but lived mainly in Kansas City, Kansas. He had many different jobs and was a business owner for many years, but God and human interaction were the most important. He lived his life with constant caring. It didn't matter if you were family, friends, or strangers; David was kind and wanted to talk.
David is the last of the Foley generation from his Father, Charles W. Foley, who died at 96; his mother, Lillie Foley, whom he adored; Brothers Charles Jr., Cecil, and Don; and sister Velma, who all lived shorter lives. He cared for both his Father and Mother before their passing. David lived as the son of his father, a famous Baptist Evangelist. He held deep sorrow and missed his large family throughout the years, often speaking fondly of each and their families.
In his final years, although silently wishing to see his family again in Heaven, he fought each day to see another. Seeing how he persevered with the strength to live his long life by overcoming the obstacles of failing health and body was amazing and inspiring.
David was preceded in death by wives: Marjie Torson (son, David) and Agnes Foley and survived by Virginia Foley (son, Allen).
He sadly leaves his sons, David Foley Jr. and Allen Foley.
"The pain of missing you will hopefully subside to the reminder of the joy of loving you. Go, Father, into Heaven; we will see you again someday."
