Dale Kirk Hodges

Dale Hodges, 58, passed away January 23, 2017 at Olathe Hospice House. Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Thursday, January 26th, with visitation from noon-1:00pm preceding the service, all at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Olathe Hospice House, 15310 South Marion Street, Olathe, Kansas 66061.

Dale was born September 18, 1958 in Kansas City, Kansas to Dale and Phyllis Hodges. He graduated from Washington High School and attended both UMKC and KU, achieving his Bachelor’s Degree. Dale worked in computer programming for DST before leaving for health concerns. He was on a bowling team in college and continued bowling for many years. Dale also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his children, especially when he could help them with projects for Scouts or school.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Dale is survived by his children, Meagan Ausmus and her husband Kyle, Catherine Hodges, and Benjamin Hodges; his grandchildren, Abigail and Matthew Dale Ausmus, Carter Wallis, and Hunter Fizer; his sisters, Pamela Jones and her husband Stephen, and Sherry Hankinson and her husband Dan.
