Curtiss James Pritchett, 61, passed away Monday, October 14, 2019 in his home. Born on March 2, 1958 to James L. and Deanna E Pritchett (Acton), in Norman, Oklahoma, he spent his childhood and teenage years in Oklahoma City, Kansas City and Nairobi, Kenya. He graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. He was an adventurist choosing, motocross racing, rugby, hunting, fishing and kickboxing as his sports. He loved his dogs and hunting with them. He was most proud of his son, James Maxwell Pritchett (Max).
He will be remembered for his sarcastic sense of humor, his rugged nature, his simple needs, and his culinary skills, especially around the holidays. He was not much for an office job, choosing to tend bar, plumbing and construction work. He did enjoy his garden and canning the fruits and vegetables that it provided. He survived stage 4 throat cancer with true grit, great doctors, and the support of his family and ex-wife, Mary Miller.
Curt was preceded in death by his mother, Deanna E. Pritchett, his beloved uncles, Hershel and Ted Acton, and grandparents Ed and Mary Acton, and James and Agnes (Lou) Pritchett.
Left to mourn his passing includes his son, James Maxwell Pritchett; 3 brothers, Bryan Pritchett, Eric Pritchett and his wife, Linda, and Darin Pritchett and his wife, Michelle; 7 nieces and nephews, Cameron Pritchett and his wife Kayla, Morgan Pritchett, Peyton Pritchett, Sara Pritchett, Ian Pritchett, Cheyanne Pritchett, and Daxton Pritchett; as well as his numerous, and much loved cousins, and their families.
