Clara Smith is survived by two siblings: Patricia Peters, Dorothy Masters; Four Sons: Jimmie Jr and wife Julia; David Smith; Don and wife Donna Smith; Barry Smith; One daughter Sharon Smith; Six Nephews: Jimmy Raymond, Charles Peters Jr, Leonard Peters; Robert Modrell, Gary Masters Jr, Clay Masters; Four Nieces: Theresa Ann Modrell, Sally Masters, Mary Masters, Patty Peters. Four Grandchildren: Matthew Smith, Jennifer Robertson, Blake Christianson, Tina Smith. Seven Great Grandchildren: ShyAnne Johnson, Emily Johnson, Michael Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Sierra Smith, Hannah Smith, Sophia Smith, Evy Smith, Emma Robertson, Corbin Robertson. One Great-Great Grandchild: Zephyr Rodriguez-Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents Stanislav and Veronita Paduck; brothers, Stanley Paduck Jr; Frankie Paduck; Joseph Paduck and wife Margie; Daughters: Jo Anne Smith; Susan Smith; Great grandchild, Haley Jo Smith; Nephews: Mike Peters, Joseph Dennis, Steve Paduck & Niece Jenny Peters.
Clara was born on March 12, 1931, in Kansas City, KS to Stanislav and Veronica (Schlonga) Paduck of Tarnobrezg, Poland and Leavenworth, KS, respectively.
In her early adult years she worked at Woolworths and Katz in KC, MO. She then moved to Tucson, AZ where she raised seven children before returning to KC, KS in 1985.
Clara believed in Jesus and His Salvation for her sins and would share that with others.
Her favorite: Bible verse was Romans 8:24-25; Song, Because He Lives; Color, Purple; Flower, Morning Glory; Place to eat, breakfast at Fritz’s; Movie, 10 Commandments; Favorite place to visit, Tucson, AZ.
Her family and friends will always remember her as a talking of the Lord Jesus Christ and placing Christian tracts in phone booths and other public places. She thoroughly enjoyed butterflies, working jigsaw puzzles, embroidery / sewing, and drawing landscapes.
The family would like to thank Nurse Helen Laning of Hospice Kansas City AND Nurse Julie, and numerous aides of the Kaw River Nursing Facility for the thorough, compassionate, and sensitive care of Clara in her final days.
Also, a special thanks to Jimmy Raymond and Ms Grace Rice for all they did to care for and assist Clara in her last years.
