Charles Edgar Jacobs of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on September 24, 2020. He was 87 years old. Due to restrictions, there will be a private family funeral service. You are welcome to join us for the graveside service on September 30, 2020 starting at approximately 12:45 pm at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Charles was born on July 21, 1933 in Buhl, Alabama to Harvey and Nannie Jacobs. Throughout his years, Charles became a loving father and grandfather and was known as Alabama. He was previous married to Violet L. Cooper Jacobs. He spent most of his career working at General Motors as a proud UAW Representative before his retirement. Charles enjoyed spending time at his favorite hangout, IHOP, where he enjoyed sipping coffee with his friends. He also would spend his free time garage selling and reselling. His hard work and drive has influenced all to be the best version of themselves they could be, to work hard and play harder.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey E. Jacobs and Nannie V. Coleman Jacobs; brothers, George Jacobs and Ray Jacobs; sisters, Susie Thomas, Francis Channell, and Betty Harris.
Left to cherish his memory is his children, Deborah and Paul Redmond, Mark Jacobs, Randy and Julia Jacobs, Kathy Belshe, Larry and Susie Jacobs, Starla Jacobs, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Jacobs; sister, Mary Lee Channell; along with many other family members and friends.
