Charlene Dunn

Charlene Louise Dunn, née Long was born July 30, 1943 and was called home by her Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ on July 5, 2012. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 9, at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th Street, Kansas City, KS. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.

She was born in Kansas City, Kansas and had lived in the Tonganoxie area for over 20 years. She was a much loved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. A superb cook, she enjoyed making great meals for her husband and family, especially on the holidays. She was an avid quilter, creating many quilts of various sizes. Charlene enjoyed fishing with her husband of nearly 51 years and spent many hours on Leavenworth County and Wyandotte County Lakes. She was happiest when spending time with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Louis and Dorothy Alice Long of Kansas City, Kansas and her Father & Mother-In-Law Goldon Richard and Aldene Elizabeth Dunn of Hixson, Tennessee. She is survived by her husband George E. Dunn of the home. Children Patricia Louise Dunn Taillon of Independence, MO, Ed Dunn and wife Robin of Vail, AZ, Steven and wife Amy of Belton, MO, Jonathan of Tonganoxie, KS and David of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Jason Taillon, Caitlin Taillon, Garrett Tucker, Austin Lewis, Colleen Dunn, Ryan Dunn, Troy Dunn, Jillian Dunn and Sarah Dunn; great-grandchildren: Lexie and Mya; brother: Charles and wife Mary Long of Eagle Rock, MO and their 4 children and Aunts: Anna May Saunders and Nadene Saunders and numerous 1st and 2nd cousins.
