To the family of Carlos Darrell Merriman,

My family and I want to express our deepest condolences for the passing of Carlos (or Los as we affectionately referred to him). Los could pull a smile out of my deepest pains, effortlessly stitching up any broken parts with strings of laughter. He greeted friends and strangers alike with a smile. To leave his company was to leave encouraged, uplifted, and wearing a smile. I don't recall hearing him say he loved me and mine, but I knew he did. His eyes lit up whenever we were fortunate enough to be in his company or hear his voice on the phone. My memories with Los are precious, and my favorites are the numerous instances we gathered at the Henderson residence. Our hosts (Lance and Ricci) welcomed us time and time again to break bread together (the most incredible show of love and family I know of) and laugh until our sides hurt. Every time we were together, laughter echoed in the air and resonated in our souls as a sign of unbridled joy. I am the oldest of three. In Los, I had an older brother. He loved by sharing his laughter and blessed others by encouraging them. I miss my brother and my friend. Please reach out if there is anything my family and I can do to help.

My condolences to all of the Family for Carlos.  I'm going to miss our conversations sharing our opinions and insights to all the Chiefs games whenever I would come to the 8th floor and visit Carlos on my breaks at work. We both saw the insights of every play of every game and that's rare considering I had only started my job at the UG in July 2023. Carlos was a joy to speak and work with.  I'm going to miss his technical insight and wisdom on all of the upcoming system demonstrations I am assisting with and managing for various UG departments, because only he could ask the right questions to the Vendors, to make sure the software would function the way we expected and needed it to function. I'm going to be lost without his presence in the meeting room.

My FIJI brother... Carlos will be missed. Never an unpleasant interaction with him. Prayers for and condolences to his family and friends.

As a young man, Los was like a brother to me. I remember the first time meeting up after probably 15 years and it was like nothing had changed. I remember wrestling him to the floor in my sister Shelbys living room, like we were kids. I always loved that man. He was always there to give me advice ( wanted or not). I'll never forget his laugh, or should I say chuckle. 
He's been a part of our family for many years and he will always be remembered as "my brother from another mother"

You will definitely be missed, brother, but you will never be forgotten! I love you man!

So many great memories with our family over the last 36 years. We will miss Carlos so much!

We finally got our kids to join us on our yearly cruise and Carlos and Dionne had a ball! Will miss you nephew but will keep you close in my heart and memories!
