Bonnie Lee Jones

Bonnie Lee Jones, 80, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away May 9, 2017 at Villa St. Francis. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 15th at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112, with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. preceding the service. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Bonnie was born July 22, 1936 to Port Isabel, Texas to Lloyd and Ruth Wilcox. She graduated High School and later married Leland Franklin Jones in 1955. Bonnie worked as accountant for the Santa Fe Trail Girl Scouts for 39 years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bonnie was very active in her children’s lives growing up, volunteering as a score keeper at Wyandotte County Park, serving as President of the PTA several times, and keeping track of everyone at home. She also enjoyed working on genealogy and family history.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Ruth Wilcox; her husband, Leland Franklin Jones; and her son, Michael Wayne Jones.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Kathy Sbisa (George), Gary Jones, Laura Jones, Tracy Jones (Angie), and Kevin Jones; her granddaughter, Crystal (Jones) Dinsmore (Matt); her sister, Betty Stoner; as well as sixteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
