Bob Fry, 80, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away July 8, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and daughter. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112.
Bob was born April 3, 1937 in Kahoka, Missouri to B.C. and Wilma (Rowe) Fry. He graduated from Kahoka High School and started working as a truck driver, driving with his father. Bob moved to Pueblo, Colorado and met his wife, Inez Wilmoth, in Kansas City, while working at Horn Transportation in Kansas City, MO. They were married on November 30, 1968. Together, they drove their truck as much as possible and saw the country. He retired after 40 years on the road. Bob was a member of the Westside Family Church. He enjoyed boating, camping and fishing and was a loving husband and doting father. Bob will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Robert Fry, Jr.; and his brother, Jack Fry.
Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years, Inez Fry of the home; his daughter, Pam (Fry) Slattery (Billy) of Bonner Springs; his sons, Gerald Ray Smith, Jr. (Nancy Farr) of Sunrise Beach, MO, and Brent Fry of California; his daughter-in-law, Missy Fry; his grandchildren, Robbie Fry, Jillian Fry, Ray Smith (Regina), and Paul Brewer (Nikol Young); as well as four great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
