Bill Lee Kincaid

Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec 2, 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Open Door Baptist Church. 3033 N. 103rd Terrace, Kansas City, KS. Services will be held Friday, December 3 at 1:00 at Open Door Baptist Church, followed by burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Bill Lee Kincaid, 96, of Kansas City, KS, left this earthly life on November 24, 2021 to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born April 11, 1925 in Chillicothe MO and lived almost all his life in Kansas City KS. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1943.

Shortly before graduation, Bill enlisted in the United States Navy. During World War II, he proudly served as a gunners mate on the Navy destroyer USS Tingey.

After returning from the war, he married his high school sweetheart, Evelyn Mae McIntire. They spent 62 wonderful years together raising 6 children and 4 foster children. Their home “on the farm” became a welcoming oasis to many and was the hub of activity for holidays, birthdays, and many other celebrations.

Bill worked for District 500 KCK Board of Education for 30 years as a painter. After retirement at the age of 60, he kept himself busy with many hobbies, projects, and ministries from rehabbing and flipping houses, to golfing in the senior league at Sunflower Hills Golf Course, to hosting a monthly Men’s Prayer breakfast for over 30 years. Bill redefined retirement. He always had a project going. Up until his final days, he was mowing the pasture on his tractor, zipping around on his “Mule”, playing Canasta, or devising some slightly dangerous contraption for his grandkids to play on.

Bill cherished each one of his 67 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. He always made each one feel special. His forged a bond with his grandsons through their tradition of an annual grandson fishing trip. That bond will resonate for generations to come.

He will be deeply missed by his six children: Colleen Gay McGinnis of Kansas City, KS, Carrol May (Kevin) Moore of Kansas City, KS, Glenna Sue (Joseph) Natale of Santa Barbara, CA, Rodney Lee Kincaid of Rome, Italy, Bridgette Ann Jobe of Kansas City, KS, and Leesa Lyn (Jeff) White of Kansas City, KS. Bill was immensely loved by his 28 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, plus a multitude of other family and friends.

He was greeted in heaven by his wife Evelyn along with his parents Hazel and Walter Kincaid, his brother Stanley, sisters Marilyn and Betty, grandsons Bryan Tyler Jobe and Carlos “Boyie” Natale, son-in-law Lee McGinnis, and a host of other family and friends.

Bill’s life was characterized by his favorite Bible verses, Proverbs 3:5-6. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
