Beulah “Belle” Lea of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on August 24th at her home. She was 94 years old. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be the following afternoon, Friday, August 30th, at 2:00 pm also at Chapel Hill-Butler. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Beulah was born on September 30th 1924 in Macon County, Missouri to John Henry and Carrie Dee Long. Beulah married the love of her life, Sidney Daniel Lea, and had three beautiful children; Dee, James, and Sherry.
Beulah enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, listening to country music, and above all, spending time with her grandchildren. She was a stubborn but honest woman, and it was her way or no way at all. Beulah was “always” right even when she wasn’t. Beulah was loved by so many and will be dearly missed.
Beulah was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sidney Daniel Lea; her parents, John and Carrie Long; her son, James Lea; granddaughters, Tammy Lea and Lisa Elven; sister, Lavinia Hutson; and brothers, James Long and Charles Long.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughters, Dee (Duane) Smith and Sherry Lees; grandchildren, Lori, Brian, Shelly, Danny, C.J., Robbie, Crystal, Rachael, Ashley, Mike, Shawn, Kristy, and Dustin; 34 great grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren; along with other family and friends.
