Betty Spehar

Betty Spehar, 84, passed away January 2, 2016. She was born in Pulaskifield, Missouri to Anthony and Marie (Lagodinski) Eskina. She grew up in KCK but lived the last 20 years in Bonner Springs. Betty was an active member at St. Patrick Catholic Church in KCK and participated in numerous organizations within the church. In 1951, Betty married Thomas “Tom” Spehar. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and traveling but most of all, spending time with her family.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Marie; husband, Tom; and siblings, Leo, Benny & Jean. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Patty (Bob) Kearn, Donna (Dave) Rector, Gary Spehar and Anita (Steve) Knese; grandchildren, Marci (James) Richter, Russell (Jenny) Kearn, Stephanie (Randy) McCleary, Alan Rector, Angie (Jesse) Marshall, Alex (Liz) Spehar, Andrew Spehar, Anthony (Rochel) Knese and Cheyenne Knese; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 5th from 5:00-8:00PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00PM at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 6th at 10:00AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment will follow services at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
