

Anthony L. “Tony” Lacy, 92, of Bonner Springs, KS, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2010 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 14th at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Basehor, KS. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, Kansas. Friends may call from 9 A.M. until mass time Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Holy Angels Catholic Church Building Fund. Tony was born January 24, 1918 in Kansas City, KS to Joseph and Mary (Hibler) Lisac. He was a lifelong Kansas City Resident, working in construction for 50 years, and owning and operating Anthony Lacy Builder before retiring in 1996. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, serving in the Seabees. He loved gardening, fishing, and taking care of his land, always having a project he was working on, and he was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. He was the last surviving member of his family, with his parents, 3 brothers and 8 sisters all preceding him in death. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Lacy, and a son-in-law, James Roper. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Mary Ann Lacy of the home; 1 son, Raymond A. Lacy and his wife Helen of Woodbridge, IL; 1 daughter, Marianne Roper of Bonner Springs, KS; 7 grandchildren, Jim Roper of Fairgrove, MO, Mary Beth Roper of Valley Falls, KS, John W. Roper of West Palm Beach, FL, Tim Lacy of Fishers, IN, Julie A. Hawk of Belton, MO, Mark Lacy of Silver lake, MN, Suzanne Owens of Channahon, IL; 11 great-grandchildren, Steve, Jr., Shawn, Michelle, Jennafer, Jessica, Ashley, Nick, Katy, Abby, Anna, and Marissa; and 1 great-great-granddaughter, Sammie.
