Anna Faye Thurber

Anna Faye Thurber, 68, passed away December 16, 2016 after a long illness. A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00pm, Friday, December 23rd, with a service to follow at 3:00pm, all at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112. Interment will be held in Bunch Cemetery in Bunch, OK.

Anna was born November 7, 1948 to Jack and Jessie (Nicholson) Whitaker in Tulsa, OK. She graduated from Central High School in Tulsa, OK. After graduation, Anna was determined to join the Army with her sister, Joy, and they served as Medics during the Vietnam War. She worked as a Nurse's Aid at Methodist Manor in Oklahoma after her return. Anna married Terry Thurber on March 6, 1980. Her faith was very important to her and she had the sweetest soul.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Anna is survived by her husband of 36 years, Terry Thurber; her daughter, Jolean Kenney (Christian) of Leavenworth, KS; her grandchildren, Alex, Kate and C.J. Kenney; her siblings, Joyce Brown (Mark) of Guthrie, OK, Jack Whitaker (Shirley) of Owasso, OK, Martha Stephens (Patrick), and David Whitaker also of OK.
