She was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on November 17, 1967, to John and Linda Marshall. Amy attended Saint Albert Catholic Schools before marrying the love of her life, Gary Blair, on August 27, 1987. Amy and Gary met in what would become a Hallmark movie marriage. Their 37-year union was built on traditional morals and a level of love and loyalty unknown to the modern generation.
Amy was not only a devoted wife but a beloved mother to her children. Amy lived a life of unconditional love and taught those around her to do the same. She carried incredible pride in the accomplishments of her family and friends and showed immense support for those around her.
Amy's meticulous attention to detail led her to a successful career as a designer. She showed great pride in the design team she worked with during her years making clients' dreams a reality.
In 2021, Amy was diagnosed with bile duct cancer and immediately began treatment. She fought for years until the cancer went dormant. During this time, Amy was able to spend time with family and travel abroad, fulfilling her dream of cruising the Amalfi Coast with her family. More importantly, Amy visited Vatican City, receiving a Sunday Papal blessing.
Amy will always be remembered for her character, quick wit, and brutally competitive nature. She made those around her stronger, more intelligent, and forgiving at the same time. She will be greatly missed by the many people who loved her.
Amy is survived by her husband, Gary, and three children, Clinton, Zachary, and J. Olivia; Son-in-law Jason and granddaughter Natalie; her father, John Marshall, of Omaha, Nebraska; her sister, Michelle of Omaha, Nebraska; and brothers, Shawn of Denver, Colorado and J. Bradley of Omaha, Nebraska.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 1st from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N 94th Street Kansas City, Kansas. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 2nd at 11:00am at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1086 N 94th Street Kansas City, Kansas.
