Albert O. “Neal” Davis, 89, of KCK, passed away October 16, 2015 at Providence Place. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd from 5:00-8:00pm at Chapel Hill – Butler, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS. Funeral services will be 11:00am, Friday, October 23rd at the funeral home. Interment with Honors will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Stony Point Baptist Church, 7938 Barnett Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas 66112.
Neal was born May 15, 1926 in Imboden, Arkansas to Albert and Ina Davis. He enlisted in the Navy in October of 1944 and was stationed in Alaska; he earned both the Asiatic-Pacific Medal and the Victory Medal. After Neal’s discharge from the Navy in 1946, he married Katherine Holder on March 16, 1947. He worked for Midwest Conveyer, Co. for 23 years and later Automatic Systems, Inc for 26 years, retiring as a Field Supervisor. Neal was a member of the Millwright Union #1529 for over 40 years. He was a charter member and Deacon for Hope Baptist Church, attending from 1963-2004. They have since been members of Stony Point Baptist. Neal was an avid hunter and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He often travelled for work, so when he was home, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Neal was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ina Davis; and his five brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, E. Katherine Davis of the home; his children, Diane Leslie (Jim) of Winter Haven, FL, Wayne Davis (Lee Ann) of Lenexa, Gary Davis (Lana) of Lenexa, and Cathy Todd (Mark) of Olathe; as well as eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
