Adrianne E. Orel

Adrianna “Adrianne” Elizabeth Orel, 24, passed away at her home May 27, 2014, surrounded by people she loved. After many years of fiercely battling cystic fibrosis, God decided it was time for her to breathe easy. A visitation will be held Friday, May 30th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3024 N 53rd St., KCK 66104, with a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 31st at 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Adrianne was born February 3, 1990 in Kansas City, Kansas. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas in 2008, where she was the football manager for 4 years and was voted “most inspirational” by her classmates. Following high school, she attended K-State and loved her Wildcats and all things purple. Adrianne was baptized at Christ the King but was a member or Cure of Ars. She was an enthusiastic supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Chief Patient Advocate for AudreySpirit, LLC. More than anything, she cherished her family and enjoyed her role as “second Mom” to her spirited younger siblings.

Adrianne was preceded in death by her Poppo, Will Shinn. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother, Angie Shinn-Connley; father, Dennis (Kathleen) Orel; brothers Justin (Angela ) Orel and Declan Connley; sister, Lily Connley; step-brothers, Keith and Eric Middleton; grandma, Vera Shinn; and grandparents, Joe and Virginia Orel. She shared a special bond with her aunt, Dana (Joel, Jack and Luke) Shinn-Weidner and her godmother and aunt, Nancy (Garold) Baker; her aunts Kathy Orel and Chris Orel; uncles, David (Eileen) Orel, Dan (Jodie) Orel, Michael (Tammy) Orel; and numerous cousins and other friends and family.
