Rudolph was the favorite. He was the favored uncle, the charismatic friend, the leader of pack, and the easy one to talk to. Children looked up to him and loved him, as he was the jokester, most likely to be willing to put everything down to play no matter what the age. Even once in a wheelchair, he was playful with his great-grandchildren, who he often nicknamed “Tiger.” Rudy had nicknames for everyone – it was his way of making people feel special, recognized, and endeared.
Stemming from humble beginnings, he was fearless in his resolve to build a different life for his family. Open in his yearning for higher education, he made sure that his family knew how important it was to go to college and was proud to support his family’s goals and was always their number one cheerleader.
Rudy always placed a strong emphasis on the importance of family and tradition and worked hard to instill those same values in people around him. Sunday was family time, period. As the proud leader of his family, Rudy was larger than life.
