Mona Gail Kuahine Gomard Parker, entered her eternal resting place on February 28, 2025 at age 71. Mona was surrounded by family at home in Lanikai after a courageous four year battle with cancer.
Mona was full of grit and grace, vibrant and strong through it all. Mona was born to James and Mary Lou Gomard, one of 5 girls, brought up in Kailua. Mona graduated from Kailua High School and the University of Hawaii where she met Wayne Stevens Parker.
It was the start of a loving 50 year marriage. Wayne, a talented interior designer built a successful business with Mona at his side. They were true partners, inseparable in life and business, enjoying travel all over the world and the US. Mona was an avid tennis player until golf found its way into her life.
She was a natural athlete, she was creative and talented, good at everything she aspired to achieve. Mona’s greatest joy was spending time with Wayne, sons Steven and Noah, daughter-in-law Sara and, grandchildren Keanu and Guava who were the light of her life.
Mona is also survived by mother Mary Lou, sisters Nicki Kometani, Kaina (Joseph) Gomard Buffalo and, Cammie (Leonard) Tupua, and many nieces and nephews.
Mona was sweet, kind and thoughtful, and even at the end of life, was concerned about how others were doing. She was a beautiful person inside and out, loved by extended family and many close friends. Mona’s spirit and energy will be greatly missed by all.
A celebration of Mona's life will be held on Saturday, May 17 at Mid- Pacific Country Club in Lanikai from 2 pm - 5 pm.
