Karen was always the life of the party for our office family, Jerry's law practice.  I was just looking through old photos and saw Lauren and Mikey from so young. Such good times when we got together for potlucks and special occasions. Sharing deepest condolences to Jerry, Lauren, and Mike.

My heart is broken.
This cannot be true. Our family met Karen in 2005 when we moved next door on Nahewai.  Karen’s love, care, compassion for My Ben was immense. We had a blast together, Leo and Champ, martini’s, poker nights, movie nights, playing scrabble, out for family Thai dinners, decorating, MacKenzie Child’s, Karen’s love for her family was gigantic , Lauren was her best friend.  !! Jerry, Mikey, Lauren, I wish I could give you a ginormous hug. What an unspeakable loss . Love Auntie Bonnie and family in Sweden 

I, and my family, lived next door, in Kaneohe, to the Fonsecas for 8 years. My memories of Karen are filled with lots of laughter and love. Fun/silly  times, as when she put a plastic rat by our front door and scared me, and those sweet times when she would love on my children or she and Jerry would share a meal with us. I could go on and on. She was so kind and caring. My heart is broken and aches for her loved ones. I will always cherish her friendship and remember her beautiful smile.  Always in my heart, Karen.  My love and prayers for Jerry, Lauren, Mikey and all who love and miss her deeply. 

I don’t remember a time when I didn’t know Karen. She was such a delightful, friendly person and I always liked her sweet nature.  At the University of Maryland, she “rushed” my sorority and fortunately, she liked it and became a member.  I was honored to be her “Big Sister” and we were able to further our friendship.  I will never forget how she gave my pet duck (who outgrew my bedroom) a new home in a pond near her house.  She was the kind of person who would do anything for you!   We reconnected on Facebook and I’m sorry I was never able to go to Hawaii to visit her.  She was a treasure and will certainly be missed by all who knew her. 

I knew Karen from 7th grade and lived in the same town of Cheverly Md.  She was alway full of life and had a vibrant spirit.  Beauty, brains and lots of fun..  I am deeply saddened by hearing of her passing.  Bob Neidig

What a gorgeous picture of Aunty Karen.  I will always remember her sense of humor, her strength and generosity.  She loved her children above all else and it showed.  You will be greatly missed Karen.  We will all make sure that Maddox, Brooks and Olive know how much you loved and cherished them.  Love always, Cis

I remember that first time we met Karen and Noel.  I remember  Karen and Jerry’s  wedding and  her brother  Louie’s band playing as everyone danced.  I remember so many family gatherings we had- Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter egg hunts, etc.  I remember the birthday parties Karen planned for Lauren and Mikey over the years and the family dinners we shared.
I am so glad for all the good memories.  May all of you find comfort in your good memories, too.  All our love now and always.
