Jaime Ranos Visaya, died November 15, 2022, in Kaneohe, HI. He died from a complication of
upper Respiratory disease, Parkinson disease and post-op abdominal surgery. He passed away
from Aloha Nursing Rehab and Centre that he stayed at his last wonderful years. He was 69
years old at the time of his death.
Jaime was born October 19, 1953, in Ilocos Norte, Bacarra, Philippines to Eugenia R. Visaya and
Ireneo T. Visaya. He was a middle child to six siblings. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in
Finance and Accounting in the Philippines and continued his education while he was in the
United States Navy. He served onboard many naval vessels such as: USS Flint, USS Kitty Hawk
and finally onboard USS Carl Vinson during Gulf War era period. After he was honorably
discharged from the United States Navy, he continued to work same job in the Government
Service (GS) civilian sector under the Defense Finance Accounting Services (DFAS). Not only that
but he also worked part-time in Military Exchange Service (Retail Store) in Army & Air Force
Exchange Service (AAFES). He always loved to work and never wanted to stay still. Even at
home he made himself busy all the time like washing our cars, maintaining our yard, and many
household chores.
While in the United States Navy, he also met the love of his life, Zenaida Visaya, while stationed
in the Philippines and they both ended up getting married on March 24, 1988. They were
blessed with one son, Jeffrey Visaya. Although he has a family he would be deployed by sea or
air going between different duty stations in Hawaii (Pearl Harbor and Barbers point), in
California (San Diego and Lemoore), in Alaska and even across to Asia like in Japan, South
Korea, Singapore, The Philippines and through Europe (Germany and Italy) and many other
locations. He travelled around the world and even though he did, he would always take the
time to spend time with family and friends back in Hawaii. He even lived his retirement days
back in Hawaii on the island of Oahu.
Jaime is survived by his wife, Zenaida Visaya; his son, Jeffrey Visaya; his sisters: Lita Sales, Pina
Tapec, Anna Mabanag and Brother, Emilio Visaya. His brother-in-law: Emerson Sales, June
Tapec, Lito Mabanang, and his many amazing nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He was also
predeceased by his parents, Eugenia Visaya and Ireneo Visaya; late-sister Chita McDonald and
Brother-in-law Martin McDonald.
His funeral service will be private and attended only by close friends and family at Hawaiian
Memorial Park Cemetery and Funeral Services.
