A chapel service for Irineo will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Hawaiian Memorial Park Funeral Services, 45-425 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, HI 96744. To comply with CDC, State and Hawaiian Memorial COVID protocols, please provide a copy of your COVID vaccination card or a COVID negative-test result upon entering the chapel. Masks are mandatory inside the chapel, so please wear your mask inside until the end of the service. Thank you in advance for your understanding. Irineo "Ernie" Queja came to Hawaii in 1960. He went to Honolulu Technical School and graduated in June 1963 with a certificate to be an automotive mechanic. After graduation, he worked for Fork Lifts Hawaii, then Coca Cola Bottle Company. He was drafted and served in the US Army (Vietnam 1968-1969) from February 1967 and discharged in March 1970. He is survived by wife Arsenia, sons William (April), Randy, and Nelson (Sylvia), grandchildren Marisol, Jesse, Dillon and Colt Queja and sisters Romana (Johnny) Padasdao, Leonarda Maria Magaoay and Patricia (Ramon) Madariaga.
Irineo was a devoted, loving husband, understanding father, indulgent grandfather and a good brother, uncle and friend. He was kind, respectful and ready to help when needed and always putting others ahead of himself. He will be missed.
