Dorothy "Dottie", MaMaDot (Collins) Williams, age 71, of Kapolei, Hawaii transitioned peacefully on Thursday, July 13, 2023. "Dottie", MaMa Dot was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Bernice Jackson and Joseph Collins.
Her passing leaves an immense void in our lives, but we take immense comfort in the beautiful memories she leaves behind.Her laughter, her warm embrace, and her words of wisdom will forever echo in our hearts.
Our Devoted Mother gained her education within the Philadelphia Public School system in her early years & Graduated with honors from Germantown High school Class of 70', finalizing her dreams she began in 1991 & in 2017 became a college student again and received certification and a degree in her interest and studies as recent as the fall of 2018 In Sitka, Alaska.
She was a long time employee of not only the Postal Service in Philadelphia one day after graduation, but was also diligently employed by the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in the late 70's early 80's.
Our Mother enjoyed Music, Traveling, learning throughout her life, as she attended numerous educational courses and college classes during the years that peaked her interest and built her wisdom.
She dreamed, she prayed, she worked hard always, and built a peaceful life. She is survived by her loving sister Joyce Johnson, and two of her three adoring children,

who range in age from 3 yrs old to 23 years old and were the center of her entire universe.

She instilled in them the values of love, compassion, and integrity, which continue to guide them in their own lives & to remember to PRAY, LIVE STRONG & FEARLESS.
"Dottie" enjoyed things like Cooking, from live band music to quiet elegant tea parties, was always able to find a church home and devoted much of her time to church in Sitka, Alaska and in Mililani, Hawaii before the pandemic changed things a bit. Yet, she kept going; organizing Game nights with friends, whale watching, fishing, painting, silk flower arraigning, jewelry designing, crafting, networking and so much more. She would had lived in numerous places such as the Bronx, NY, Savannah, GA, Oahu, HI & Sitka, AK..
"Dottie", with her love of community and great music, blessed the airwaves with her soothing voice and bought the party to public Radio during her life time & as a night jazz DJ for KCAW Raven Radio Sitka, Alaska, also in the early 90's graced the mic playing gospel and Jazz @ HBCU Savannah State College’s WHCJ Jazz Radio Station.
Dorothy was adored by many, far and wide, making acquaintances and friends. When she was sure she could trust you, she let you know you were family, and she loved you. You would never have to guess what she was thinking when it was time to speak wisdom, yet she constantly carried a soft quiet and observant spirit and was reached out to time and time again. She was dependable, very nurturing, and full of knowledge that she was always willing to share.
