Donald Colburn was born on August 24, 1935 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was a father of four children. He graduated from the University of Hawaii and Central Michigan University. He spent 23 years serving in the military of which 20 years were dedicated to the United States Air Force, which included one year of voluntary service of a combat tour in Vietnam. He played football and volleyball for the military. He also studied and performed martial arts. He was an exceptional athlete and won many awards for his outstanding athletic abilities. After retiring from the military, he worked for the federal government for 15 years. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Donald Colburn is survived by his children, Emi Lei Colburn Gibson, Debbra Dee Colburn, Coppin Yuji Colburn and JoLynn J Colburn, 20 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Coppin will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Kailua Ward Chapel, 349 Kailua Rd, Kailua, HI 96734. A graveside service will occur Monday, March 13, 2023 at 8:30 AM at The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl), 2177 Puowaina Dr, Honolulu, HI 96813.
