Cathy blessed countless lives, with her joy for life.  We all loved her and she will truly be missed.

My very first memory of Aunty Cathy is from King intermediate days. I remember going to the house and watching gangster movies like Blood in Blood out and Menace to Society. It was Bryson, Richard Shim, Keola Adaro, and Edrick. We would pretend we were one of the Characters in the movies. Meanwhile Teri would be yelling at someone "where's the kaki mochi?" Then Aunty Cathy made the first appearance into my life. She came to the table by the kitchen and GAVE Teri a container of Kaki mochi. 
It was significant because that seemed to be her personality; Always very Giving. Giving of her garage to a bunch of loud, kids and drunks. She was Giving of her time to Teri's friends and even their kids. I am certain she Gave much more than she ever received.  Even Giving of her living room to immature teens who she just met to watch gangster movies. There is no way she can be replaced. My only hope is we can Give like she did. Just thinking of her Give me great memories and a smile.

A cherished memory of Aunty Cat that comes to mind is the surprise visit she paid me during my time at Sam's Club. I had just started working as an assistant manager, and one day, she appeared out of the blue. Although she might have been running errands nearby, she took the time to come and see me, inviting me to join her for lunch. We sat in the outdoor cafeteria area, and shared a heartfelt conversation about life. Her kindness and understanding made that day truly special, and her words of encouragement helped alleviate my anxieties about my decision to work there.

Rest in peace, Aunty Cat. You will always be loved and remembered.

Aunty Cat... 
Where do I begin. You've been there for almost my entire life. From keeping us delinquent kids outta trouble, to feeding us, giving us, countless rides, being a second Mom, and second Gram to my Children.  Friends that became Family. 
When I say you were there it doesn't even scratch the surface. You watched me become a Mothet, a  Grandmother, a Woman. Always so encouraging and supportive. You were there for me to welcome each of my children into this world. So many words of wisdom you had for me.You were there as both my Parents were laid to rest. You comforted me and my children and 
helped us thru. And at my lowest you held my hand as we honored my Jeremy...
As I look back on my life thru the good times and
bad, the highs and lows, celebrations and passings you were a constant beautiful force in my life. I am so  blessed to have had you as a part of the lives of my family.
I am so honored to be your niece.  From the bottom of my heart I thank you for always loving me, my Children, Grandchildren & Family. You will be greatly missed.

Aunty Cathy was always there, always around, always happy and enjoying every moment. Her kind smile, her warm hug just her presence always made an impression on me. She was a good woman and an even better mom. I will always remember her.

Aunty Cathy was a very special person, & whoever went to the garage, she treated them with Aloha. She always made sure we were taken cared of & continued to do the same for our children years later. Her generous heart is how she will be remembered! 

One thing I remember about Aunty Cathy is the birthday gift she got me for my 7th birthday. She got me my first bra! That doesn't sound like a big deal, but I always wanted to act like I'm older and wear bras just like my mom, but no one would buy me one. So when I opened the box with a flamingo print sports bra, I was so happy! And after that she served us all a carrot cake for dessert at Sunday dinner like always. And that was one of my many memories about Aunty Cathy.

I have so many fond memories of Aunty Cathy and miss her every day. We ragged on her constantly for doing everything for her kids, even when they were 40+ years old, shuttling them around and sometimes accompanying them to party after party. She was the most “on-it” lady I knew. She would remind me to do things because she knew I was so absentminded. She always knew where the best deals were. She would even call me to tell me when soda went on sale because she knew what Rafa liked to drink.  She would hem my pants and could do everything (often better) than us non-arthritic people could.  Every Sunday at our family dinners, we eagerly waited to see what delicious treat Aunty made for dessert— banana cream pie, strawberry jello pie, carrot cake were some favorites. We all miss you aunty. Your kind smile and presence are irreplaceable. Kelsy

I have so many great memories of Aunty Cathy growing up. Mostly when I used to come over for dinner and she would make her famous roast chicken. It was one of my favorite foods growing up. Before coming inside she would always tell me to turn over my feet so she could see how dirty they were and then scold me for not having on slippers and make me wash my feet with the hose. I still remember eating on those plastic tray plates and with the red and yellow plastic cups. Of course she always had Diamond Head Strawberry soda on tap and bacon bits for Teri's rice. She was so caring and always took care of everyone from me to the other neighbor kids to all of Teri's friends growing up and through high school. I will miss visiting with her when I come home but am happy knowing that she is in a better place and free from suffering. Love you Aunty Cathy, till we meet again!


A TRIBUTE TO OUR BELOVED FRIEND CAT 
We reminisce & share remembrances of dear Cat.  Although you were our advisor of the CHARMELLES Club, you were asked to dance.  While others stood on the sidelines, hoping, "Pick Me!"  But, you were cute & petite, so it was okay.  You were so strong, as Ron & I saw you carrying a GALLON ALOHA SHOYU BOTTLE @ MARUKAI.  When Brenda & I made wreaths @ HALAWA Xeriscape Garden, YOU amazed us with your determination & made one as well.  Your desserts gave your family & friends so much pleasure.  PINEAPPLE UPSIDE-DOWN CAKE, a winner!  We were impressed with how YOU found bargains @ Macy's, being so akamai with coupons & sales.  
CAT, we will truly miss your YOKOYAMA SMILE, your welcoming SPIRIT & FORTITUDE,  & your GRACE  through ADVERSITY.

This photo was taken on Teri’s Birthday in 2020. We stopped by to drop off a gift for her but she was out and about partying. It was such a joy to see uncle and aunty. There are so many wonderful memories of Aunty Cathy but the ones I remember so clearly was during my childhood days. She always invited me over to sleepover. Teri and I were best friends enjoying New kids on the block, WWF Royal rumbles, swimming at the rec, braiding our hair, reading books in the van, eating sun flower seeds at baseball games and so much more. I clearly remember eating Saimin and Cheeto puffs with carton grape juice. Aunty Cathy was always nurturing and welcomed me to her house even when we were adults. She and uncle flew to Maui to celebrate our wedding and we are forever grateful for their support. Teri has a lot of friends and everyone who knew Teri knew aunty Cathy just as well. She was the best aunty anyone could ever have! Best at everything…especially her baking (my favorite was the rocky road brownies and chocolate chip bread pudding) 🫶❤️ She will always have a special place in my heart! 

I'm so glad Taylor's school was up the street from the shop I was working at. Cat came to visit and we got to reconnect. I'm so grateful we got to catch up on our busy lives.  I'm so sorry that her health was worse than she led on.  This photo was from the next shop I moved to.  Praying for her and her loved ones.
