Blanche May Iaukea peacefully passed away on March 5, 2025 at the age of 94. Born in Pepeekeo, Hawaii, she attended Hilo High School then went on to St. Francis Nursing school on Oahu. There she met and married Herbert Chang and together raised their six children in Kailua, Oahu. Later in life after Herbert passed, she moved to Makawao, Maui with her second husband Curtis Iaukea II, where they thoroughly enjoyed country living and traveling around the world together. Years after Curtis passed, she returned to her Kailua home and spent her last years there.
Blanche loved to garden, read and most of all keep in touch with family and friends through phone conversations and letters. Smart, witty and full of life, she loved to talk and laugh! She was a bright, supportive light in all our lives.
She is survived by sons Roland, Gareth (Janine) Chang and stepson Hank (Ann) Iaukea. Daughters Cindy (Roy) Mariani, Laurie (Bob) Manantan and step daughter-in-law Janette Iaukea, along with grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchild.
Blanche is predeceased by 1st husband Herbert Chang, sons Nathan and Byron Chang, 2nd husband Curtis P Iaukea II, stepsons Curtis Iaukea III, Ronald and William Iaukea.
Blanche was dearly loved and will be greatly missed!
