On the evening of February 13, 2022 - our beloved Bachan left this earth and met Jesus and her husband, Donald G. Aweau in heaven. Our Bachan, Asako Aweau, spent her last moments in the presence of her children and granddaughter, listening to the Superbowl, 'Til the very end, Bachan did things her way. The doctors and nurses said she wouldn't be able to breath on her own but she proved them wrong and was able to do so the hours until she was ready - then she peacefully left us.
For those fortunate enough to meet her, you know a few things about her:
She made the best Japanese curry. She loved to watch football.
She loved spending time with her family. She loved Korean Dramas.
She was a strong willed woman.
Bachan went to visit her daughter, son-in law and granddaughter in Oklahoma and has been there since November 2021. She was enjoying the family time and the chance to travel. Losing Bachan so unexpectedly has been difficult for our 'ohana as Oklahoma is so far from home.
Our 'ohana hope this update finds you all well. We would like to let you know that Bachan is now home on Oahu.
