Allen (Alan) Joseph Fraga, 93, died on March 3, 2025. He was born on August 17, 1931 in Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii, to Charlotte Abigail (Abbie) and Joseph (Joe) Fraga. Though he was an only child he enjoyed the company of cousins growing up. He graduated from Roosevelt High School and went on to have many adventures, starting with a tour in the Coast Guard. With his first wife Connie, he had a daughter named Lori, born in 1962, who shares his love of dogs, plants, and art. Over the years, he worked as a cook, a draftsman, air traffic controller and at an art gallery. It was at this art gallery in Waikiki that his life changed forever when he met and later married Peggy. Together they had a daughter, Andrea in 1979, and a son, Nicholas (Nick) in 1982. Alan completed college at Chaminade University with a degree in Criminal Justice. He worked most of his career with US Customs, first as a sky marshal and then as a special agent. After federal retirement he worked for the State of Hawaii as an investigator in welfare fraud and child support. He was known for his sense of humor, quiet observation and easy going, calm nature. He was down to earth and enjoyed dogs and cats and scouting for plants and fruit on the old Pali Road. He taught his kids how to cook and how to have a good time without spending money. He much preferred the simple and free things in life. Except ice cream. Ice cream costs money and he surely must have spent some big bucks on ice cream over his 93 years of life! Alan is survived by Peggy, his wife of 52 years, daughter Lori Calvery and her husband Russ, daughter Andrea Fraga and her sweetheart Kaleb Aldred, son Nick Fraga and his wife Cyndy, and grandsons Mason and Lucas. Alan's family would like to extend their gratitude to Lyndon Odrunia and the fantastic caregivers and hospice workers who cared for Alan in his sunset time. A private service will be held at a later date.
