It is with tremendous shock and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Mary Pallot on May 27, 2024. Mom had instilled in us, that if she could remain independent in her own home till the bitter end, with a sudden and peaceful departure, this would be her absolute wish.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter Denise (Ron) and sons Paul (Cassandra) and John (Brenda). She also leaves behind the lights of her life, whom she was very proud, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband Dave and daughters Linda and Wendy.
Always a good friend and neighbour, this sparkly spitfire will be remembered as the best grandma ever, nurse extraordinaire, outstanding caregiver, advocate for the underdog, champion for local Farmer's Produce and a force to be reckoned with mother of 5 who was strict, no nonsense, strong willed and who would not tolerate whining.
Mary was very active into her late 80's, often seen with her hiking poles on long walks with her 10 lb backpack. She was the most generous spirit, selflessly giving, always grateful and appreciative. She will be remembered by many for her fabulous hospitality to friends and family who transited through Kamloops.
Her favourite hymn was "Will your anchor hold in the storms of Life" and her cherished Desiderata phrase heard by many "The Universe is Unfolding As it Should".
There will be no formal service as per her request; however, a Celebration of Life will be planned for a future date.
