Julia is from a loving family of 15 children. She was born to Nancy and Andrew Adams on July 31st,1947. Julia met the love of her life in the late 60’s Robert (Bob) Bennett. They got married on June 26th-1971 and had their two sons Darrell and Barry. She cherished Darrell and Barry, they were her life. Later Barry met Kelly. They have two beautiful girls, gramma’s babies, Kiya and Denaya. Darrell married Cody, and they had her other three beautiful grand babies, Kennedy, Oscar and Bart, grandma’s other babies. She lived for her family. She loved them so much. It is hard to put into words how much she loved them. Julia was a hairdresser by trade. She worked in Kamloops for ten years as an award winning hairstylist. She had the trophies to prove this. Julia went to school in the early 60’s at Vancouver Vocational Institute, now called Vancouver Community College, for hairdressing. She always had to have hair just perfect. In the late 60’s Julia was a backup singer and go-go dancer for the for the band “Red Skins”, along with Sylvia Charlie and Carolyn Raphael. The “Red Skins” band members were brother Poncho, Byron Spinks, and her brother Dakey. Poncho even made up his own instrumental tune and called it “Julia”. She also worked at the post office in Lytton and worked at Little Fawn Daycare on the Tkemlups te Secwepemc reserve in Kamloops for 19 years. Julia loved her family like know one would ever know. The love for her husband Bob, the love for her sons and daughter in laws, and of course her greatest love for her beautiful grandchildren. Her love for her grandchildren is a love that will always live forever. She cherished her days with her grandchildren who she loved so very much. The sleepovers at Grandma and Grandpa’s. Mom cherished her memories with her family like her big “New Years” get togethers.The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to RIH staff on the 8th floor of the Gaglardi tower for the care they gave mom in her final days. The family will be holding a celebration of life for Julia on May 4th-2024 at the Moccasin Square Garden on the Tkemlups te Secwepemc reserve at 11:00am.
