Jack was born on October 14, 1941 in Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA to Howard C. and Catherine Pennell. He grew up helping on his parent's farm, attending school and participating in 4H and FFA. He also participated in calf roping and other rodeo events at Cowtown, NJ.
After graduating from High School he attended the National meat cutting School in Toledo, Ohio.
In 1963 after finishing meat cutting school he decided to visit a friend who was working at Willow Ranch. He liked the ranch life so much that he decided to stay at the Willow Ranch where he worked between 1963 and 2003, spending the last 23 years as ranch manager.
Jack never really retired from ranch life and continued to work in ranching until the fall of 2023 at which time he was working at the Stump Lake Ranch.
He passed away after a brief illness at Royal Inland Hospital at the age of 82 on February 4, 2024.
Jack is survived by his wife Helga of 56 years and brothers Howard (Molly) Pennell of Mullica H1, NJ and David (Nancy) Pennell of Lakeland, FL. He will be missed by his family, friends and coworkers.
Jack was predeceased by his brother Charles Pennell of Bridgeton Pike, NJ.
In his spare time Jack like to take short trips to Vernon, Salmon Arm, Armstrong and Merritt with friends. He would complete his day watching the many rodeo channels on the cowboy channel.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Royal Inland Hospital, VGH in Vancouver or the 4H or charity of choice.
