A life well lived, a woman well loved. Mom peacefully passed away on March 8th, days before her 90th Birthday. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters Sharon Schmidt, Christie Okrainetz (Bob) and her son Larry Schmidt (Val). Also mourning her loss are her seven Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.
Gladys was predeceased by her parents Ethelbert and Fanny Daynard and her eleven siblings.
Gladys was born March 14, 1931 in the heritage home at 763 Bernard Avenue, Kelowna, B.C. where she lived until moving to Vancouver to start her family. She returned to Kelowna to enjoy retirement, especially her time at the Dorchester Retirement Residence where the staff and her friends made life extra special.
Mom’s zest for life was reflected in everything she did. She loved traveling (with cruising at the top of her list), enjoying a glass of wine with friends and spending time with family.
Her desire for fun and laughter will be greatly missed. “To the Top of the Trees”
