Arthur Laverne (Vern) Bragg, of Kamloops, BC, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2023, at the age of 88. Born in Brooks, Alberta on July 23, 1935, Vern moved to Kamloops in the 1950s and built a life for him and his family there. Vern was a caring father to five children and nine grandchildren.
Vern spent much of his time working, and he was known for his reliability and dedication to his job. He worked for many years in the transportation industry as a medium-haul truck driver. He loved the freedom of the open road and the satisfaction of delivering goods on time. He was known for his skill and expertise behind the wheel, and for his friendly demeanor with colleagues and customers alike.
When he wasn’t working, you could find him enjoying a game of crib with a friend, or working on someone’s car in his garage. He was most comfortable around vehicles, and enjoyed making repairs to help out family and friends. He valued hard work and simple pleasures, and he will be remembered for the impact he had on those who knew him.
Vern had a stroke in 2016 which affected his ability to speak and think critically. In January 20221 he was admitted to Ponderosa Lodge in Kamloops, BC where he lived out the remainder of his days.
He is survived by his children, Doug (Wendy) Bragg, Dale (Jackie) Bragg, Kathy Julian, Karen (Gord) Balzer, and Daniel (Dawn) Bragg, along with nine loving grandchildren.
The family would appreciate your thoughts and prayers at this time. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
