Tom grew up in the East Germantown section of Philadelphia, PA and graduated from North East Catholic High School for Boys. After high school, while he was working at a pharmacy, he met the love of his life, Diane, and they later married and had 3 children. He worked as a Photo Engraver at Triangle Publications until they closed their Philadelphia site. He then became licensed as an electrician and was employed at McNeil Pharmaceuticals in Fort Washington, PA, and also Sears in Jenkintown, PA. He worked at McNeil until his retirement.
Tom loved boating and spending time with his family at their summer home on Burlington Island (NJ) in a house he built with his friend. Later he enjoyed riding on his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his wife. One exciting dream he fulfilled was owning two antique trucks and entering them in car shows. Both trucks appeared in auto magazines which made him very proud. He also found great pride in taking care of his yard and keeping it in pristine condition. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Englewood, FL where they enjoyed the company of friends and singing karaoke. In 2021, they moved to Jupiter, FL.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Helen (Gehring) Dickson, 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, his twin sisters Peg Mannix and Dorothy Longaker and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A service to honor Thomas’ life will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Aycock Funeral Home, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458. May his soul rest in peace with the Lord.
