Ruth is survived by her husband William Tully, son Brian Tully, daughter Mary Ellen Tully Adams, grandchildren Mikaila Adams, William Brian Boru Tully and sister Jean Buscarello.
She is preceded in death by her parents Sylvia Moody Codaire, Alfred Codaire and Brother Jackie Codaire.
Ruth was born October 6, 1922 in Canton, CT; she graduated from Hall High School in 1940. Ruthie then married her love Bill Tully while on Boot camp leave from the Navy in 1942. While her children were young Ruth worked as a secretary for St. Brigid School. She then went on to work as a secretary for Program Directors at the Town of West Hartford Board of Education.
Ruth was a woman of boundless energy who got things done before you even thought about it. Ruth and Bill raised their children in West Hartford Connecticut. Many family camping trips were meticulously planned by Ruth before anyone heard of a GPS. She served as President of both the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 96 and the St. Brigid Ladies Guild. In addition she was a member of the VFW Auxiliary #9929 and the West Hartford Drum Corps Parents Group.
Ruth and Bill moved to Florida in their retirement where they lived at the Village of Holiday Lake in Port Charlotte for 30 years. Ruth joined the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the St. Francis of Assisi Ladies Guild in Port Charlotte. She continued to plan trips with family and friends; these memories and many others are captured in volumes of photo albums.
Her Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Port Charlotte Florida on June 17th at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Park We hope you will join us.
