Robert W. Boland, nicknamed Doc, age 88 of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and Stroudsburg, PA passed away on July 3, 2023, surrounded by the love of his children after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Kearny, NJ; the son of the late James and Edith Boland.
Robert attended Woodbridge Senior High School where he loved sports and played basketball. He also attended Fork Union Military School in VA and went on to be a successful land developer in the Pocono Mountains. In his spare time he enjoyed golf, going to the casinos, owned many racehorses and loved the beach.
One of his favorite organizations was the Burnley Work Shop in Snydersville, PA where he served on the Board of Directors for many years. Robert (Doc) organized many golf tournaments throughout the years raising funds.
He is predeceased by his loving spouse, Michele Boland and beloved brother, James Boland.
He is survived by his children, Robert D. Boland, Patricia Boland, Bonnie Boland (Debi), Karen Boland, and Sherry Walck (Thomas), three grandchildren, Marcella, Frank, Jillian (Nicholas); nieces and nephews, Jimmy (Jan), Glenn (Nancy), Kristin, Sean (Alessandra); as well as many great nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on July 29, 2023 at Clark Funeral Home in Stroudsburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert’s memory to the Burnley Employment and Rehab, 4219 Manor Dr. Stroudsburg PA 18360.
